Volunteer

Global Growers relies on committed and motivated volunteers to help with our farm operations so we can create and maintain productive spaces for our partner farmers to be successful food producers. No prior farm experience is needed, just the ability to work hard and be comfortable getting dirty. We host regular volunteers at Bamboo Creek Farm in Stone Mountain and Decatur's Kitchen Garden in Decatur. Possible activities include: preparing garden beds, making compost, farmscaping our sites for increased sustainability, planting and harvesting.

Individuals:

We are currently hosting individual volunteers Thursdays and Saturdays from 8am - 3pm at Bamboo Creek Farm in Stone Mountain.  Beginning in mid March, we will also host volunteers at Decatur's Kitchen Garden on Wednesdays and Saturdays.  Please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.  Special Projects:

Do you have basic carpentry or woodworking skills?  We are building a new CSA packing area and are looking for skilled volunteers to take the lead on building shelving and extending an existing roof.  The work can be done on your own time, with support from GGN staff, interns, and volunteers.   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Remember, when volunteering outdoors it is always a good idea to come prepared. We recommend you bring a water bottle, bug repellent, sunscreen, closed toe shoes, gloves, snacks and appropriate work clothes when working in the garden. It's more fun this way!
